Literature Text

You showed me the permanent gift

I gave you on my birthday

The signature of authenticity,

On the sealed doors of my old bedroom.

Hold my hand, vehicle of life

The pleasure is mine

Let me be soothed by your

Porcelain skin one more time

See your hair on my head

Your blood in my veins

Your reflection in mine

And promise me you’ll rest

Tell me you’ll stop

Paving a path for me

Through the thorns

With your naked flesh

Let’s look like a perfect pair

With our set of matching scars

Mine from bearing greed encased in longing

Yours from sacrifice

But my feet were bound in solitude

Yet my hands grasped for your love

Divergent flesh

Torn in sweet escape

All I want is nothing more

Than to see you asleep without furrowed brows

To silence your painful moans

And free the warm colours of your laugh

I want to take off into galaxies that

Shine behind your worn out eyes

And drift to sleep to the pulse

Of the life in your chest

Let my silence tell you

Of how I love you
When I began writing I didn't really expect that it would end up this way, and I honestly feel really proud of how it came out.
So here is my try at freeverse! :)
I hope you guys can tell me in the comments what you feel the meaning of this poem is :D It would mean soo much to me!! Thank you so much!

You should be proud, it is a very nice poem indeed!

Hmm, my first impression was sex, but I also found some metaphors about cars as I re-read. The reason I thought of sex is because it reminds me a lot of a part of my novel that I wrote where the main characters, both troubled by their chaotic lives, laid down to 'rest' (:eyes:) and the male just wanted to let the female know how much he wanted to ease her troubles. (Did that sentence make sense? xD)

Anyway, well done!
